Well worth your time to visit this restaurant. Chile rellenos are a good reason to visit, homemade Mexican food in a historical building great bar in the back. I would eat there again.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, rich with history and it's like a museum in there dedicated to the history of Guadalupe. The Food is great, and really affordable. I got a cheeseburger, a coke and some chips this afternoon and my total was under 10! While the burger in and of itself isn't much to write home about, I HIGHLY recommend the carne asada with refried Beans, the meat is delicious and the refried beans are ACTUAL refried beans, none of that canned stuff. The Owner, Rosa, always greets you with a smile and has plenty of stories to tell (and lots of life advice too!) Please swing by if you're ever in the area, and if you bring Cash, they have a really 1960s Cash Registers up front and in the bar that they still use and it's an absolute treat to hear the 'ka-ching' when they ring you up, but they do accept card as well!

I make it a priority to go to La Simpatia whenever I'm in town. The tamales are awesome, the beans are the best anywhere and the tacos are the same as I've been eating my whole life. This is the best authentic Mexican food. Can't wait to go back next time I visit.
